中国元朝元世祖于至元十六年（公元1279年）三月二十日命天文学家郭守敬进行天文地理测量行动“四海测验”，郭守敬亲自登陆的南海测点为黄岩岛及附近诸岛，创世界纪录协会世界最早发现黄岩岛世界纪录。

The people who earliest discovered Huangyan Island in the world
---- Guo Shoujing in Yuan Dynasty of China
On March 20^th, i.e. the sixteenth year of Zhiyuan of Yuan dynasty (A.D.1279), the astronomer Guo Shoujing was commanded by Kublai Khan of Yuan dynasty of China, to carry on astronomy and geography measurement called as Four Seas Tests. The testing points of South China Sea personally landed by Guo Shoujing were Huangyan Island and neighboring islands. It set the world record granted by the world Record Association for being the people who earliest discovered Huangyan Island in the world.
