On February 2 th, 2012 at 8:20 pm, Zhang Zhaohai from Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, China performed extinguishing candles with a sword in Chaoyang City. He used a one-meter sword to extinguish 30 candles in one second while blindfolded, setting the world record granted by the World Record Association for using a sword to extinguish the largest number of candles while blindfolded in the world.
